Nature and Purpose of Marriage
In this lesson, we will continue our study of Relationships and Families by exploring the nature and purpose of marriage. We will learn about the traditional views on heterosexual marriage, monogamy and polygamy and Islamic, Secular and Christian views of marriage.
Divorce
In this lesson, we will continue our study of Relationships and Families by discussing divorce. We will explore reasons for divorce, Christian views on divorce and remarriage including Roman Catholic, Anglican, situation Ethics, Islamic views on divorce and remarriage and non-religious views in reference to utilitarianism.
Sex outside of marriage
In this lesson, we will continue our study of Relationships and Families by thinking about sex outside of marriage. We will explore sex before marriage, adultery, Islamic and Christian views and non-religious views in reference to utilitarianism.
Attitudes towards sexuality
In this lesson, we will continue our study of Relationships and Families by thinking about attitudes towards sexuality. We will explore the historical development of views on same sex attraction in the UK to modern day, Christian teachings on same sex attraction and relationships, Islamic teachings on same sex attraction and relationships and non-religious views (utilitarianism).
Recap and practice
In this lesson, we will recall and practise our learning on Relationships and Families so far. This will be an opportunity to recap learning, to answer some examination style questions and revise key concepts.
Same-sex marriage
In this lesson, we will continue our study of Relationships and Families by thinking about same-sex marriage. We will explore the development of the law in the UK regarding civil partnerships and same sex marriage and look at Christian and Islamic views on same sex marriage with reference to the purpose of marriage.
Cohabitation
In this lesson, we will continue our study of Relationships and Families by thinking about Cohabitation. We will recap the purpose of marriage and sex outside of marriage, look at current trends in the UK towards cohabitation and examine Islamic, Christian and non-religious views.
Contraception
In this lesson, we will continue our study of Relationships and Families by thinking about Contraception. We will explore types of contraception, Roman Catholic views on artificial contraception, other Christian views on contraception, Islamic views and non-religious views (utilitarianism).

In this lesson, we will continue our study of Relationships and Families by thinking about contemporary family issues.
Contemporary family issues (part 2)
In this lesson, we will continue our study of Relationships and Families by thinking about contemporary family issues. We will explore care for the elderly and vulnerable in society, views on same-sex parenting and views on trans issues.
Gender equality
In this lesson, we will continue our study of Relationships and Families by thinking about gender equality. We will explore examples of gender discrimination, traditional Islamic and Christian views on roles of men and women and modern Islamic and Christian views on the roles of men and women.
Revision
In this lesson, we will recall and practise our learning on Relationships and Families so far. We will revise facts and views on same-sex marriage, cohabitation, contraception, contemporary family issues and gender equality.
