﻿Hi everyone, my name is Miss Toole and this is bear and we love chocolate cake. We love to make chocolate cake, and we especially love to eat chocolate cake. And in this lesson, we are going to be writing a persuasive advert for chocolate cake. So using everything we've learned about persuasive adverts going to put it all together to create our own. Let's have a look at what we're going to be doing in today's lesson. We're going to start off with our Spellings hope to learn our tricky words, We are going to listen to our original persuasive piece, and then we're going to start to do our own shared write of a persuasive advert for chocolate cake. So today you are going to need a piece of paper preferably with lines on, pencil and your fabulous brain. So pause the video while you going get your resources, and then press play when you're ready to go. Before we start today's learning bear and I would like to play a game of question or not. I have four sentences, Some of them are questions, and some of them are not. And previously in this unit we explored what is a question and why we use it, so asking somebody to find out information. So I'm going to say it, and you need to tell me if it's a question or not, and bear I need your help as well so make sure you're listening. So are you ready? The first one is, where did you get that honey? Where did you get that Honey? Am I asking you a question or am I just telling you some information? What do you think? Where did you get that honey? What do you think bear? That's right, it's a question I'm asking you. Where did you get that honey? Super, by the time I've got the sack of money ready, the honey is delicious, the honey is delicious. Am I asking you or am I telling you something? The honey is delicious. What do you think bear? I'm not asking you so that means it's not a question. It's just a statement. I'm just giving you some information to tell you that the honey is delicious. But third one, are we ready? Why do do bees make yummy honey? Why do bees make yummy honey? I Wonder is that a question or am I just telling you some information? Why do bees make yummy honey? What do you think bear? I think I may be right. What do you think at home tell your screen? It's a question I'm asking you? why do bees make yummy honey? I'm not just telling you by the final one. Are you ready? Before we start our items today, I want us to have a quick recap of our tricky words. Can you remember why we call them tricky word is because we can't sound them out. We just got to know them. So we look at them and we say them and this is going to be really quick. So I just want you to look and say. Are you ready? look and say my look I'm saying I look I'm saying Why look I'm saying was, look I'm saying ask, look I'm saying of, look I'm saying the, look I'm saying today. Simple, they're the words that we have been focusing on in this unit. Now we're going to have a quick game. And the game is I'm thinking of a word. So I have our tricky words on the screen. I am going to think of a word and tell you one of the letters in that word. And I want you to have a go at guessing which word I'm talking about. Now you can say the word to your screen. And I will tell you once I have given you all my clues, so are you ready? The first word I am thinking about has three letters in, three letters. One of the letters is an S. It got an S in it. Another letter which is at the start is an A. Can you point the word on the screen? Just three letters. One of the letters is an S, and it starts with an A. Can you point to that word on your screen and say the words out loud? It is ask, did you find the right one? Right, let's have another go. Okay. The next word I'm thinking about is also three letters. The last about the beginning is a W, W, but the letter at the end is an S, S. Can you point to the word and say at your screen. Three letters, got W at the beginning and an S at the end. Was. Did you get the right one? Was. Next one? The word I am thinking of now has two letters. The first letter is an O, O. Can you find it? It's of, well done, super. Let's have one more go. The next word I'm thinking of is the three letters. The middle letter is a H, but the first letter is a T. Using the box that we created the other lesson, I'm going to quickly go through our persuasive advert and retell it really quickly, just using the main bits that we highlighted. Okay. So we've got introduction. Hello everyone. My name is Dr. Sweet and I am a honey seller. Every Friday, I sell my jars of honey down at the farmers market. And this is what I say to people to get them to buy my honey, roll up roll up. Listen, everybody, come and buy my honey. Buy with your money. It's really sweet and yummy. Protecting your tummy. Taste. First, it is delicious. My honey comes from bees next to a field of roses, My honey taste of roses. It is delicious. Second, reputation. It is famous, show it to your friends and they will be impressed that you have such amazing honey, they will respect you, by buying my honey. Third, value. Third, it is great value, you can buy one jar for five pound, three jars for 10 pound 15. Hurry now before I run out of honey and you have to buy cheap, boring honey from the supermarket. Buy now before it's too late, buy now and you will feel great. Buy now. Don't even wait. Today we are going to be writing our own persuasive advert with the title Buy My Chocolate Cake. So I'm going to be using everything we've learned about persuasive advert and put it into our road. Can you remember why we need to learn about persuasive advert? What is the purpose? Simple, to tell somebody to do something, it's to convince them that they need to do the right thing and we give them all the positive things so for our honey, we told them it was delicious, it was yummy, it was good value, your friends would respect just with, try to convince them to buy our honey, persuade them is what we say. So we are going to persuade people to buy our chocolate cake. Now, the way we're going to do is I'm going to show you on my screen how I am writing it. And I will leave bits out for you to write your own words. I'll ask you to pause the screen and have a go at writing at home. You have two choices when you are writing at home. Your first choice is you can write what I have written down on my piece of paper and just put in the missing word. Or, you could have a go up follow my structure, but putting in your own words, so you don't have to do what I have written on my piece of paper. As long as you are following what we know. We need to have in our persuasive advert, so you have two choices, when doing your own writing at home. Let's start writing our persuasive advert for buying my chocolate cake. You'll need your book so we can follow it. We're going to start with the introduction today. So the first thing we need to do is introduce ourselves. So, remember hand on your page to hold your paper pencil correctly in your hand and we start at the top. Our sentence need to start with a capital letter. And the first sentence says, Hello everyone. My name is Dr. now in our honey persuasive advert, they will called Dr. Sweet because honey is sweet. So I would like you to become creative writers and think of a name for your doctor linked to chocolate cake. So Hello everyone. My name split A, mmm,. My name is now Dr. is the name so it needs a capital D, doctor and then you put your name of your doctor remember that's the name so you have to go to the capital letter. Hello everyone my name is doctor and this is where I would tell them what we are persuading them to do. So I am a chocolate cake Baker and I am a chocolate cake Baker. Now, I is one of our tricky words that we've been learning spelling. So I, am, a chocolate, chocolate cake. Chocolate cake, baker. That's the end of the sentence. So we need to put in a full stop. Full stop. Hello everyone, my name is Dr. and I am a chocolate cake baker. Now in our honey persuasive we tell them where we sell the honey. So we're going to do the same every Friday. Now, every is the start of our sentence. So it needs capital letter. And Friday is the name of a day of the week. So that also needs a capital letter. Every Friday. I tricky word that's a capital letter. I sell, tricky word my, M-Y I sell my chocolate. So I sell my chocolate. I'm going on a new line because I kept the rest of it. I sell my chocolate cake at the, now in our persuasive text for the honey, it was at the farmers market, but we go and sell our chocolate cake at the Baker's market. Got the, one of our tricky word, the Baker's market, full stop. End of our sentence. Let's re-read what we've written. Hello everyone. My name is Dr. and I am a chocolate cake Baker. Every Friday I sell my chocolate cake at the Baker's market. Super that makes sense so we can move on. Now, in our honey they sing to get the customers to buy their chocolate cake, and we looked at it because it has rhyming words So we're going to write one with rhyming words as well. So start on a new line, capital letter. Roll up, roll up. Listen, everybody. So roll up, roll up. Listen, every body, full stop. So now we go into our next sentence which is come and buy my something cake So come and buy my and I want you to think of an adjective to describe the cake. So we had delicious honey, sweet honey. I want you think of a word to describe the cakes about the yummy cake, tasty cake squirmy cake. Come and buy my cake, I can guarantee. So remember this is me creating my poem to sing to the customers but as I said before, you can challenge yourself to write your own and have a couple of rhyming. So come and buy my cake. I can guarantee you won't get can you think of a word that rhymes with cake. I've gone for the word belly ache. I can guarantee you won't get bellyache. Remember we're trying to persuade them to come and get the cake. So we don't want to get belly ache. Full stop. So cake and belly ache rhymes. They're my rhyming words. So the next two lines also need to run with each other. So my first one is, I would like to take your money. We're going to look at the value, I would like to take your money. For my next line. I've got to think of a word that runs with money. So I would like to take your money, full stop. Trust me, the cake is and then I want you to put in the word that rhymes with money. Trust me, the cake is and you put the word that rhymes with money. So it's money and something else. Okay, I want you to pause the screen now and have a go at writing your opening to your own persuasive advert for chocolate cake. Once you've done that, you can press play and carry on with the next section. Now we're going to reread what we've already written. Hello everyone, my name is Dr. and I am a chocolate cake Baker. Every Friday I sell my chocolate cake at the bakers market, roll up roll up listen everybody come and buy my cake. I can guarantee you won't get belly ache and I would like to take your money. Trust me the cake is word that rhymes with money. Now we're going to put in the final section of our introduction before introducing the three main reasons. So the sentence start with. This is absolutely the, so you need a capital letter at the start of the sentence. This is absolutely not sure how to spell absolutely you can check with my screen. So this is absolutely the which is one of our tricky words T-H-E. And then I want you to say what it is, it might be this is absolutely the best cake ever, or the tastiest cake ever. The most delicious cake you will ever see. So you tell me what it is and write it into your sentence, comma, and then finish off the sentence with and let me explain why you should buy it. And let me explain why is one of our tricky words W-H-Y, why you should buy it. Full stop to finish off that sentence. This is absolutely the So you put in your own bit there so the tastiest the most delicious and let me explain why you should buy it. So that is the end of our introduction to persuade them to buy our chocolate cake. So pause the video now and add on that last section to your introduction. Remember, you can use what I have put on the slide and just change the word in for the bits I have missed out. Or you can create your own sentence. Following the structure of the persuasive advert. So I went for best cake ever to really persuade them that they're not going to find any other chocolate cake as good as mine. Now I'd like to reflect on our writing by thinking about our favourite line in our persuasive advert and telling me why I'm going to start my favourite line is I can guarantee you won't get belly ache cause I like how it rhymes with cake. And it's not a word that we use to see in our persuasive advert but it also makes the reader think. Oh, chocolate cake, that's not going to give me bellyache. I'll definitely want to buy that.
