﻿Hello there. I'm Mrs. Howley and this is Cedric, my helper. And welcome to lesson four of this unit. Now, Cedric is very excited because we're going to do lots of singing today. And Cedric loves my singing voice, don't you Cedric? Cedric thinks I'm a fantastic singer. Don't you Cedric? So in this lesson, we're going to sing an explanation. We're going to start with the nursery rhyme, then we'll go to play the because game, and then we're going to sing our explanation of why the king was amazed. You will need your brilliant brain and a teddy talk partner. Pause the video now if you need to collect any of those things, then press play when you're ready. We're going to have a go at singing our version of one potato, two potato. It's all about the king feeling amazed. Join me with the actions first. Well then Cedric will sing our explanation song to remind us. It goes like this. ♪ How, how, how did it happen ♪ ♪ Why, why, why did it happen ♪ ♪ When we explain we have to use ♪ ♪ Because, because, because ♪ So in this game, Cedric is going to ask me a question and I'm going to explain the answer using the word because, but we're going to use our imaginations. Are you ready? Okay, Cedric, off you go. Why do kings wear crowns? Kings wear crowns because they have lots of sparkling jewels. Try another one Cedric. Why do witches have brooms? Witches have brooms because they use them to fly up high. Let's try another one. Well, I'll try one on you Cedric. Why bananas yellow? Cedric said, bananas are yellow because they are dipped in sunshine. Cedric that was very imaginative. Maybe you could play the because game with your talk partner or someone at home. We're going to sing our explanation today. But first I've got a song for us that's going to help us practise. Explain using because. What can we remember from our explanation? So the farmer was scared because of the talking dog. The farmer was scared because of the... Chicken. It spoke to him and then he ran away. Then the king, what did the King do Cedric? The king stopped him, that rat that's right, because he was running so fast. And then the king was surprised to hear, what did he hear? He heard the farmer tell him that the dog spoke, the chicken spoke, and the loaf of bread spoke. And finally the king was amazed because his throne spoke. I wonder if we can put that to song to help us remember it. So I'm going to give this a try. We're going to sing our explanation using the word, because.
