Fox's Sack

﻿Hi, everyone, and welcome to our second lesson in our unit on the foxes sack. Today we're going to be looking back at our story from lesson one, and we're going to have a go mapping all the different parts of the story, because remember, we're learning about action, and that means that we need to know exactly what happens throughout the whole story. Can you remember the trouble that the fox got into? He was trying to trick everyone, wasn't he? But did he vanish in the end? No, because the lady tricked him. Let's see what you're going to need for today's lesson. In today's lesson, you're going to need a piece of paper, a pencil, your teddy talk partner and your thinking brain. If you need to go and get any of those things, press the pause button now and when you're ready, press the play button. In today's lesson, we are going to start off by Playing a game, then we're going to do some singing, then we are going to make a story map to show us all the different parts of the story, and then we're going to talk through the story. Let's start off by playing a game. Our game today is called reflecting circle. I am going to have a go at acting out a part of the story. Your job at home and with my teddy talk partner here is to guess which part of the story I am telling. Let's see how much of the story you can remember. Are you ready and watching for my actions? Let's see if you can guess the part of the story. haaappp Do you think you know what part of the story that was? Why don't you do it with me to see if that helps. Ready? Haaaapp What is happening? First of all, there is a What do you think this could be? Can you remember? What goes around at the start of the story? Buzzzzzzzyyy haah, that's right well done, it was a buzzy bee. Just then a bee buzz passed buzzzyyy, what did the fox do? He grabbed the bee and where did he put it? In his sack, well done. Now that me and Teddy have had a turn of playing refracting circle, it's going to be your turn. So press the pause button on your camera, have a gullatt of acting out a part of the story that you can remember? And see if your Teddy talk partner can guess which part of the story you are telling. When you're ready, press the play button. So many of you did different parts of the story. I love seeing lots of buzzy bees flying around. I loved seeing lots of dogs jumping out of the sack, haaap and having a go biting the foxes tail, you all had a super go at that well done. Now it's time for us to warm up and do some singing together. You might remember if you joined us for lesson one, that we sung The wheels on the Bus. Today we are going to sing a recycled version, of The wheels on the Bus. That means that we have changed some of the words and the words in the song now are all about what the fox puts in his sack. So once you get the hang of the words, please join in with the words and the actions. You already? There bee in the sack guys buzzy buzzy buzzy buzzy, buzzy, buzzy, buzzy,buzzy buzzy, buzzy, buzzy, buzzy there bee in the sack guys buzzy buzzy buzzy buzzy, all day looong, the chicken in the sack goes puk puk puk puk puk puk puk, puk, puk, puk, puk, puk, puk,puk,puk the chicken in the sack goes puk puk puk puk all day looooong, the pig in the sack goes blink, blink, blink, blink, blink, blink, blink, blink, blink blink, blink, blink, blink the pig in the sack goes blink blink blink all day looong. I hope you joined in with some of our actions today, and I wonder if after our lesson today, you might be able to think of the other animals and other people in our sort in our story, The Foxes Sack, and you might be able to have a gullatt acting some more verses on to our Nursery Rhyme from today. Now we've already said that in lesson one of our unit, we read a new story called The Foxes Sack. Today, we're going to see if we can break down all the parts of the story, so that we can become the best storytellers by knowing exactly what happens in every single part of the story. So we are going to make a story map now. First of all, we're going to make one all together, and then it's going to be your turn at home to make one. We're now ready to make our story maps, so I've got my piece of paper and my pen ready. We're going to think about the beginning of the story, can you tell your screen what happens at the beginning? Who is there? That's right, the fox is there, and he is feeling hungry, So let's have a go at drawing hungry, Mr. Fox, remember your drawings are as always super quick, just so that they can remind you what happens in the story. So we have got our little Mr. Fox here, and he is feeling very hungry. He has got his sack and what does he want to put in his sack? Food, he wants to fill his sack up with food, doesn't he? So there we go, that's the beginning of our story. Next, what happens next? A buzzy bee comes along and Mr. Fox, haa grabs the bee and pops it into his sack. What could I draw? Should I draw Mr Fox grabbing? Should I draw the sack or should I draw the bee? Because they are going to be really quick drawings, I meant to draw the bee first so, we've got our buzzy bee, nice and quick just to remind us what is happening in the story. Next, what does Mr. Fox do? He goes to the house down the road and he knocks on the door and a short lady answers. What does Mr. Fox say to the short lady? Can I leave my sack here while I visit my friend? She's feeling a bit nervous, but she says Yes. What does Mr. Fox tell her to do? Don't open the sack. What is she saying? I want to know, I really want to know, I really want to know, I really want to know, what in the sack, and does she look? Yes, she looks and out flies to bee, What does Mr. Fox say when he comes back? Where's my bee? So instead he takes the lady's chicken, that's right. So next up should we draw Mr. Fox being cross? Should we draw the chicken or should we draw the lady being nervous? I think I need to draw the chicken to remind me, that that is what Mr. Fox put into his sack. Just remember, these drawings are just for us, to help us remember what happens next, in each part of the story. So, Mr. Fox was trotting off down the road with his sack until he comes too, Who does he come to next? The tall lady and he knocks on her door and can you tell me what he says? Can I leave my sack here, while I go and visit my friend? How does she feel? Nervous but does she let him leave his sack? She does. What does he tell her to do? Don't look in the sack, aahh does she look? She does, doesn't she? And what does she sing? I want to know, I really want to know, I really want to know I really want to know what's in the sack? Haah so she looks, and what happens? Who comes jumping out? The chicken? Haah What does Mr. Fox take instead of the chicken this time? He takes the pig doesn't he? So next, Mr. Fox takes the short ladies pig. So I'm going to draw a picture of the pig, to remind me thats what Mr. Fox takes Next. Next, what happens? Mr. Fox trots off to the short, to the thin ladies house. Haah and what does he asked her? He asked her, Can I leave my sack here, while I go and visit my friend? haaah Does the lady look? she does look and he says to her, don't look in the sack, but does the lady look? She does and out pops the pig. Who goes running after the pig? The boy goes running off to the pick her son. Aaaah, so what does Mr. Fox take when he comes back? He takes the boy, He puts the boy into his sack. Next, Mr. Fox trots off to the lady's house, haaah and he says to her, can I leave my sack here, while I visit my friend? but don't look inside. Does this lady look inside the sack? No, she doesn't. What does she do instead? She makes some biscuits with her daughters. But as she's making the biscuits What's her daughter ask? Can I have one? Haah and what does she hear from the sack? Me too and out jumps the boy. So what does the lady put in the sack instead of the boy? That's right, her Grizzly dog, aah, so let's have a gullatt drawing of Grizzly dog. He is coming with Mr. Fox on the journey aah, Does Mr. Fox know that the bag has been switched? Mmhmmh he thinks the boys in there. So Mr. Fox goes off and he is feeling really hungry, so what should I draw next? I could draw Mr. Fox walking, I could draw him carrying his heavy sack with the grizzly dog inside, or I could draw a hungry Mr. Fox. What do you think? I mentioned you choose the hungry Mr. Fox, but remember when you do your story maps, you can have a go at drawing something a little bit different. You don't have to draw the same as me. So we've got our hungry Mr. Fox. I'm going to draw some growling lines coming out to show that he's really really hungry aah What does Mr. Fox do when he is hungry? He puts his hand inside the bag and haaaap the grizzly dog bites his hand. Can you tell me what happens next, while I draw my dog? Very good, so the dog jumps out of the bag, and he chases Mr. Fox into the forest aah, and then what does he bite? his tail, ooh pull mister Mr. Fox. So he is still hungry, and he still doesn't have any food to eat, because the lady managed to trick him. Now that we've had to go making the story map together, I would love you to get a piece of paper and a pencil, and to draw your own story map just like we did together. I'm going to leave my story map on the screen for you, so that you can press pause and have a go, at making your own story map. Remember, the pictures don't have to be the same as mine. I have just drawn what I thought would help me, remember the story. If you would like to draw a different picture, for a different section of the story, that is absolutely fine. This map is to help you remember what happens in the story. So press the pause button now, have a go at drawing your story map and press the play button when you are ready. Well done for having a go at drawing your own story maps, we're going to be using them today and later in this unit. So if you can keep hold of your story map, for our next lesson. Now that we've all made our own story maps, we're going to talk through the story. So we're going to start at the beginning of the story, and we're just going to say what happens, during each part of the story. So what happens in our first picture of our story map? What do we have here? Can you tell your screens now? Who is this? This is the Fox, Well done, and what does he have? a sack, very good. What does he wish was in his sack? Lots of food, very good. Because how does the fox feel? Hmm, that's right, he feels hungry, so the fox is hungry; he wants to fill up his sack with food. That's the first part of our story. Who comes along the buzzy bee? Haah, where does the Fox go? He goes to the short lady's house, haah, aah, but the chicken chases off the bee. So what does Mr. Fox put in his sack? He puts the chicken in his sack. I wonder if you can have a go at going through, all the rest of the points in our story map, and telling me exactly what happens in each picture. So, press the pause button now, I have put my story map on your screen so you can use that or you can use your own one from earlier in the lesson. Talk through the story, and when you are finished, press the play button. Well done, I could hear so many of you were having a go at saying what was happening in each of the pictures.
