﻿Hello, I'm Adam. And this is Panda, and we are on Unit Three, Lesson Seven, using the story, the Little Red Head. Here's what's on the agenda today. For our warmup, we're going to do a Word game, thinking about animals. Then after that, we're going to start, to tell the new story, the new recycled story, we created in the last lesson. And we're going to do it in two ways, first way, joining in with my telling, and then after that, we'll have a go at singing the new story. Okay, let's move on to the warmup. A blue screen, don't worry, Panda and I are over here, we're going to paint, a Word game now. So Panda and I, we're going to give you some clues and we want to see if you can guess the animal. We'll give you a clue now, all these animals are going to be in our new story. So are you ready? Okay. This first animal, lives in a cave. She waves to her friends in the morning. And she's kind, and she has good ideas, and her name rhymes with pear. Do you know who it is? The Very Little Bear, there she is waving. The Very Little Bear is the star of our story. The next animal, is furry, has a mane, four paws, name, rhymes with, Brian. It's a Lion. The Lion in this story, was friendlier than the cow, in the Little Red Hen story. He wanted to help, but was busy helping his brother and doing other things for the family. So we've got the little bear, we've got Lion. The next animal, is stripey, has hooves, name rhymes with Mebra. Zebra. Zebra too, she wanted to help, everybody wanted to help. Next one, has a long neck, eats juicy leaves from the trees, you know who this one is, It's the Giraffe. There you go. These are the animal characters in this story, and we'll be exploring their characters, throughout the rest of this unit. I think now, it's time, for the story. It's story time, it's story time. Look, listen, learn. Once upon a time in a home, inside a cave, a Very Little Bear stepped out and gave her friends a wave. " Good morning, lovely friends," said Very Little Bear, "my mom says it's going to be a hot day today, "who will help me, "dig a hole so we can have a swimming pool? " we can all play in it together." She called to her friends. "Sorry, "can't come and help today," said the Lion, "I'm very busy helping my brother." "Sorry, little bear," called Zebra, "my dad's taken me out "and I'm going to learn to gallop." "Sorry little bear," said Giraffe, "I'm learning how to chew, "juicy leaves." "No one cares," thought The Very Little Bear, "I'll dig a hole myself.' And so she did. She got a spade and she started to dig. Time passed, and the sun rose high and The Very Little Bear began to sigh, "ah, "this is hard, hard work. "I need some stones to go at the bottom, "to stop the water flowing out." She called out to her friends, "who will help me, "put stones in the pool?" "Sorry, little bear," said the Lion, "I can't come, "I'm helping my mom." "Sorry little bear," said Zebra, "I'm very tired after all the galloping." "Sorry little bear," said Giraffe, "I fallen over, "and I've hurt my knee." "No one cares," thought The Very Little Bear, "I'd have to put the stones down there myself." And so she did, and it was hard work. Time passed, and the sun rose high and The Very Little Bear began to sigh, "ah, "I need water in my pool. "Who will help me put water "in the pool with a bucket?" "Sorry, little bear," said the Lion, "I'm really feeling rather tired." "Sorry, little bear," said Zebra, "I said, I'd help my mom." "Sorry little bear," said Giraffe, "I can't come now, "I'm helping my sister." "No one cares," thought The Very Little Bear, "I'd have to do it all myself." So she got a bucket and she, slowly, filled the pool with water. But when it was done, she thought, "won't it be nice if it had a slide, "my friends could have such fun. 'Who will help me build a slide?" said The Very Little Bear. "I'd love to," said the Lion, "but I can't come now." "Sorry, "dear friend, "I can't come now." "Sorry little bear, "I can't come now, "I'll try and come later." "No one cares," thought The Very Little Bear, "I'll make the slide myself." And so she did, and it was hard work, very hard work. Time passed, and the sun rose high and The Very Little Bear began to sigh, "ah", and she was hot too, but the pool was ready and so was the slide. "Who wants to swim in my swimming pool?" said The Very Little Bear. Lion was excited, "oh, I want to swim." "I want to swim", said Zebra. " Me too", says Giraffe. "Well, you didn't help me "make the pool, "so I'll swim in it myself," said The Very Little Bear. And so she did, but it wasn't much fun. "This pool will be better "with everyone playing", said the little bear. When she saw how sad, her friends all looked, she said, "you can play." "We're very sorry," said her friends, "we're sorry, we didn't help, "but we'd love to come and play." And so the little bear said, "come on everyone, "all jump in, there's room enough for us all to swim." And that was the end of our story. So how was that, listening to our story for the first time? It's the first time, I've ever told that story. And I really enjoyed it. I really cared about The Very Little Bear. What were your favourites moments in the story? Panda like the moment, when all the friends jumped into the pool and started splashing about and I really liked the moment, of beginning, when she comes out of her cave and she waves to her friends, "good morning everyone." Well, I'm going to pause the video just for a moment for you to think about your favourite moments and maybe tell somebody your favourite moments, if you want to, you can draw it, but maybe just think about it, just for a moment. And when you're finished, we'll stop the video again, moving on to singing, the story. A great way of learning a story to tell is to sing the story. So this is a tune that we already know, and we sung the song as The little red hand, but now we've got a new character that we really care about, The Very Little Bear. So should we put The Very little Bear story with the same tune as The Little Red Hand? And here we go. So we've done a lot of things in the lessons today. We played a Word game, where we were reminded of the four animals in this story. You joined in with me a little bit, when you heard the story for the first time, told, and then you joined in with me, when we sang the song and along the way, we thought about our favourite moments of the story. Well, Panda and I, we're really looking forward to the next session, where we're going to move on with this story to stepping it, stepping up the main bits of the story and starting to put more words to it as well.
