Hello, friends. It's great to see you today. Welcome to music time. Today we're going to be going on a very exciting journey all the way to the rainforest. Would you like to know what we're going to do today? The first thing we're going to do is we're going to listen to some songbirds. Then we're going to make a fruit salad. And finally, we're going to sing a Brazilian song. You will need your singing voice, your listening ears, your imagination, and your favourite teddy or toy. You can pause the video now and go and collect your favourite teddy or toy. Right then, everybody, shall we get moving? Because in a minute, we're going to use our i-i-i-imagination to go on a journey. But first, let's stamp our feet. Off we go. Let's stamp, stamp, stamp. Off we go. ♪ It's time to stamp our feet ♪ ♪ It's time to stamp our feet ♪ ♪ This is music time ♪ ♪ It's time to stamp our feet ♪ Well done! This time, I think let's... Do some little jumps. ♪ It's time to jump around ♪ ♪ It's time to jump around ♪ ♪ This is music time ♪ ♪ It's time to jump around ♪ Okay, good jumping, everybody. This time shall we do some clapping? Okay, ready? Steady? Right? And everybody, get your magic fingers ready because we're going to put our hands over our eyes, and we're going to pretend that we're flying far away all the way to the rainforest. Close your eyes and five, four, three, two, one. When you open your eyes, you are going to be deep in the tropical rainforest, where things look and smell and sound very different. And when you open your eyes, I would like you to move your body exactly how the music makes you feel. So get ready to do some dancing or some moving when you hear the music. Open your eyes in five, four, three, two, one. Does it make you want to move a little bit? Okay, you can start dancing if you'd like. Well done, everybody! Good dancing! Well, look around. We have landed in the rain forest, and what could you hear? I could hear definitely some types of drumming, and I could hear some instruments being played with the mouth, some blowing instruments. They sounded a little bit like birds, didn't they? Did you hear the birds? Maybe there are some tropical birds up in the trees. Shall we take a look? We're going to sing a song all about a bird that's got colourful feathers, a colourful beak, and sings a really funny song. Would you like to hear the song? Some of you might know it already. Well done, everybody! I liked the way you were copying with the songbird. This time, would you like to make up a song for the songbird? Okay. Are you ready? You can do anything you like, you can go kwa-kwa, kwa-kwa! Or you can go bupbupbupbup Or maybe you want to do something different. And can you sing it again? Wow! That was a really good song! Well done! Okay. This time, you'll hear that, before I was making up different colours for the feathers of the bird. Would you like to choose the colour this time? Can you think of your favourite colour? That's going to be your feathers. And can you think of your second favourite colour? That's going to be his beak. Are you ready? Okay. ♪ Ready? That almost sounded like a duck, didn't it? It wasn't very good, Mrs. Wright! Oh, dear me. Listen, you are going to have to do the next bird song because that was rubbish. My one was rubbish. Okay. You do the next one. You make up the song, and I'll do the colours. And would you like to join in with the silly face this time? Can you try and make a face that looks like a bird? I did this. Can you make it a better bird face? Wow! That is really good. Well done! I love the way you had so much fun, being a little bit silly with your voice, and I loved all of your different ideas for colours, for the feathers. You're really using your imagination today, friends. Well done. I love it in the rainforest. Don't you? But I'm getting a little bit hungry. Shall we see if we can find some fruit? Okay. Let's go hunting for some fruit. Right then, friends. Did you find some fruit? What did you find? Can you tell me the name of the fruit that you found? Yummy! Well, I found a banana, and I found an apple, and I found a mango. Yes. Who would have thought in the rainforest? What we're going to do is we're going to chop up our fruit so we can make a delicious fruit salad. So, we're going to pretend that our fruit is on our hand and we've got a knife. We're going to chop, chop, choppety, chop. chop, chop, choppety, chop. Can you join in with me and the words and do the actions? Chop, chop, choppety, chop. Chop, chop, choppety, chop. We're going to chop off the bottom and chop off the top. Can you try? Chop off the bottom and chop off the top. Can you do a big chop for me? Chop off the bottom and chop off the top. Very good. Let's try from the beginning. Chop, chop, choppety, chop. Chop off the bottom and chop off the top. What there is left, we'll put in the pot. Can you say, "What there is left" What there is left We'll put in the pot. The actions are what there is left, we'll put in the pot. Your turn. What there is left, we'll put in the pot. Chop, chop, choppety, chop. So in our pot, we're going to have our big fruit salad. So, I will chop my banana. And what would you like to chop? Okay. Are you ready? Ready, steady, from the beginning. I have chopped up my banana, and now it's time for me to chop up my mango. What are you going to chop up this time? Good idea! Ready, steady, off we go! Chop, chop, choppety, chop. Can anybody tell me what's the special musical word that we use to describe what we're doing the actions on? It is very steady all the way through the rhyme. It never stops. It keeps on going just like your heart. Beat! Well done! We're doing our actions in time to the beat. Well done, everybody. Great remembering of that special musical word. Let's do the actions one more time in time to the beat. But, we've got one more fruit to chop. I've got my apple. What have you got to chop? Okay, great! Be careful. This is our last one. What kind of voice would you like to use? Shall we use our speaking voice, our whispering voice, or our shouting voice? Okay, you use that one. I'm going to use my speaking voice. Ready, steady, off we go. Chop, chop, choppety, chop. Chop off the bottom and chop off the top. What there is left, we'll put in the pot. Chop, chop, choppety, chop. Stir it round. Stir it round. Taste and see what we have found! Slurp! Mm! Delicious! What a tasty fruit salad. Oh, that's just what I need in this really hot rainforest weather today. Lots of delicious fruit. At carnival time, this is a song that they sing with their children and their families, and it's all about fruit, so I thought that you would like it today. Can you remember what fruit Mama Paquita bought for her baby? She bought her baby a ripe pineapple, a ripe papaya, and a ripe banana. Listen to those fruits. How many sounds do the fruit have? Papaya. Listen again. Papaya. Can you count? Pa-pa-ya. That's right. Three sounds. Pa-pa-ya. It's the same as ba-na-na. And pine-ap-ple. ♪ Well done, everyone! ♪ What a fun first trip we had to the rainforest! Shall we think back to what we've done today? The first thing we ever did was we sang with the rainforest birds. Then we ate a delicious fruit salad. And finally, we sang the Brazilian song all about Mama Paquita.
