﻿Hello, everyone. I hope you're having a great day. I was just playing with my friend, Reggie. Can you say hello, Reggie? Reggie says, hello everyone. We were just talking about patterns. I was just telling Reggie that I noticed that Reggie has a pattern on one side of his wings. Reggie said that he hadn't noticed before. Let's take a look and see what you noticed about Reggie's pattern on his wings. Here we are, so one side of his wing is green, other side, is not. What do you notice about his pattern on his wing? What does it look like? Shout the answer out to the screen, if you've got an idea. I can hear lots of you with ideas about what it looks like. What colours do you notice on Reggie's wing? What colours do you notice in the pattern? Shout the answer out when you know. Great, I could hear lots of you shouting out the answer. Let's have a look together. So Reggie's wing has a web pattern on it. It looks a bit like a web. The colours on Reggie's wing are pink and black in the pattern. Pink and black. Well done, everyone. That was great spotting with the pattern. I also found some other objects lying around that have patterns on them. Let's take a look and see if you can notice the patterns. Here is a dish towel that I found by the sink. What do you notice about the pattern? What colours can you see? Shout the answers out to the screen when you know. Great, I can hear lots of you shouting the answers out. So the dish towel has a striped pattern, the colours are black and white. Black and white stripes. Great. Let's take a look at another object that I found with a pattern on it. What is it? It's a sock. Let's take a look at the patterns. What do you notice? The pattern is a striped pattern. There are a few colours on the socks. Do you know what they are? Let's take a look together. So we have a dark blue stripe, a light blue stripe and two white stripes, another light blue stripe, another dark blue stripe, and then a pink stripe. There's also light pink in between. Well done everyone. That was great spotting the stripe pattern on the sock too. Let's just take a look at one more pattern. So here we are. What do you notice? What colour can you notice in the patterns? Shout the answer out to the screen when you know. Great. So there are some squares here. We have a squared pattern. We can call it a checked pattern too. The colours used are red, a light red, red and a light red and on the second row, we have a white colour and light red again. Great. Now let's move on to today's learning. So for today we are learning about patterns and ordinal numbers. Here are the things that you are going to need. You will need three different colouring pens or pencils and a sheet with a snake on it like this, that you can colour in. Don't worry if you don't have a sheet like this, you can draw your own snake to make your own pattern. Press pause now to go and get those things and I'll see you in a bit when you're ready. Welcome back everyone. Now that you have your three colouring pens or pencils and your snakes for colouring in, you are ready for today's learning. Let's take a look at our star words for today. I'm going to say them and you can say them after me. Are you ready? First, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth. First, last, order. And I have one more, pattern. Great. Now let's take a look at our snake. There we are. We're going to make a pattern on the snake. The pattern's going to start in the first section after the head. I think I'm going to use red for the first section. So I'm going to colour it in now. There we are, red. For the next section of my pattern, I'm going to use yellow. So let's colour it in now. There we are. And for the third section in my pattern, I'm going to use blue. And there we are, my three colours in my pattern. Now to finish my snake, I need to repeat my pattern. Red, yellow, blue. So in the next box or the next part, I'm going to colour it in red. What colour do you think I need to use next? What colour do I need to use next? Will it be blue or yellow? Shout the answer out to the screen. Blue. Red, blue, yellow, red, blue, and then yellow. So, red was first, yellow was second, blue was third. Then we had red again, which is fourth. Blue again, which was fifth, and yellow again, which was sixth. Then we need to carry on until we've finished colouring in the snake. Let's take a look at one I made earlier. There we are all finished with a lovely pattern. I've got a question for you. What colour is the first stripe on the snake? What colour is the first stripe on the snake? Shout the answer out to the screen when you know. Great, red. Red is the first colour on the snake, red. And here it says, what colour is the first stripe? So I'm going to colour this box in red. There's another question here. It says, what colour is the last stripe on the snake? Can you see what colour the last stripe is? Shout the answer out to the screen when you know. Oh, I can hear the answer. The last stripe on the snake is right here and it is yellow. So I'm going to colour this box in yellow. Great. This question says, what colour is the fourth stripe? I'm going to use my careful counting finger now to count the fourth stripe. One, two, three, four, the fourth stripe is red, you said it. Let's colour it in red. And the last question says, what colour is the eighth stripe. Let's use careful counting again to find out. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight. What's the colour? Blue. There we are. Our snake is all coloured in and we've answered all the questions about the pattern. Now it's your turn. Let's see if you can make a pattern with your snake. Use your three colours to make a pattern using three steps just like this snake. Mine was red, yellow, blue. What will yours be?
