I'd like you to stand up and do seven jumps, but before you start jumping, here's what we're going to do. I'm going to count seven seconds for you to do your seven jumps. When I say go it's time for you to start jumping. Are you ready? And go, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven. And stop. Well done, everyone. Did you manage to do your seven jumps? I'm sure you did. Give yourselves a pat on the back. That's great. Now sit down, switch your mass brain on and get ready for the next part of our lesson. So in my hand, I've got some cards and each card has a certain amount of dots in them. Your job is to count the amount of dots you can see and shout the number out. Now you're going to have to be quick because the cards aren't going to stay up for very long. Remember to use careful counting in your head when you see the dots. Are you ready? And go. Well done. Excellent, keep going. Fantastic counting everyone. That is super speedy maths, well done. I am very impressed, keep going. Good job, two more. Excellent work. And you're done, well done everybody. For today's learning, you are going to be learning how to subtract using take away. For today's learning, here's what you're going to need. You are going to need 10 objects to make your own subtraction stories. Press pause now to go and get those things. And I'll see you in a bit when you're ready. Welcome back everyone. Now that you've got your 10 objects to make your own subtraction story, you are ready for today's learning. Let's take a look at our star words. I'm going to say them and you can say them after me. Are you ready? Let's go. Subtract, is equal to, part, whole and minus. Those are all star words for today. Now you're ready for our subtraction story. I'm going to show it to you. And you're going to have to use your careful counting head to work out what's happened in the story. Are you ready? Story's coming together now. I wonder if you can tell what the animals are. Let's start, okay. So there were nine animals on the field. Shall we count them to make sure? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine. There were nine animals on the field. Four of the animals were horses. Three at the animals were cows and two of the animals were pigs. Here's what happened. There were nine animals on the field. Five of the animals were laying down on the grass. The horses came along and wanted to lie down on the grass too, but there wasn't any space. Three of the horses decided to go back to their stable and have a rest in their own space. Three at the horses decided to go back and have a rest in their stable. How many animals were left when the three horses went away? Do you know? See if you can work it out. Shout your answer up to the screen when you're ready. I can hear a lot of you trying to work out the answer. Shall we see what happens in the end? Let's do it together. One horse left, two horses left and the third horse left. So that's three horses. How many animals were left on the field? I can hear you shouting out the answer. Let's count, one, two, three, four, five, six. Six animals were left in the field. Great job everybody. Give yourselves two claps for working that out. Amazing. I've got a different ending to that story. Let's take a look and see if you can work out the answer to the question with a different ending to my subtraction story. So there were nine animals in the field. Four horses, two pigs and three cows. The pigs were lying down. They decided when they woke up, that it was time to go back to their sty, to have a bit of a play. How many animals were left when the pigs decided to go back to their sty? Have a think. When you know, shout your answer out to the screen. I can hear a lot of you trying to work out the answer, well done. Shall we see what happened? One pig left and the other pig left after they woke up. How many animals were left in the field? Great job everyone, let's count them together. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven. There were seven animals left in the field. Excellent job. Give yourselves a pat on the back. There's one making some room. Really nice cow. Very, very friendly. Here's another one making some room and the final cow makes some room for the horses so that they could go and have a bit of a lie down on the grass. And there we go. Now they all get to have a bit of a rest. How many animals were left? Shout you answer out to the screen. Well done everyone. Let's count them together. One, two, three, four, five, six.
